Through both independent and professional projects Kristin has established herself as a cinematographer, documentary filmmaker and media mentor. She founded Trigger Pictures in 2009 with the production of her award winning feature-length documentary 'WHO U.S.?’ (2014), which is now airing in the U.S. and on a university tour across the U.S. and Canada.

After entrenching herself in the grassroots video journalism network in Baltimore and completing her media arts degree, she became the founding Assignment Desk Editor and Producer at SoMedia Networks in Vancouver. In this position she produced grassroots citizen journalism across over 20 cities in the U.S. and Canada and mentored young video journalists.

She has interviewed such influential figures as Noam Chomsky, Amy Goodman, David Mack, Ani Difranco, and hip hop artist Common. From 2012-2013 she wrote and implemented media arts curriculum for students ages 12-17 in Phatthalung, Thailand. Most recently she has worked as a cinematographer on several Alberta-based projects, earning an award for Best Cinematography from Women's Only Entertainment.

Having traveled and shot in over 20 countries she is living her commitment to progress through cultural exchange, youth empowerment, and citizen journalism.
